The Villain's Theatre kicks off its ninth season with a new adaptation, entitled The Changeling: Chimes of Bedlam from the work by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley, adapted by Dan Bray and Colleen MacIsaac, directed by Dorian Lang.

This new vision of a dark classic explores the journey of Beatrice, a young woman who yearns for a life beyond the confines of her father's asylum. While navigating her way between an obsessive doctor and a mysterious new suitor, Beatrice learns that everything - even freedom - comes at a terrible price.

Playing for a two-week run that hops the harbour, with shows in both Halifax and Dartmouth, this new perspective on The Changeling enters the depths of an asylum created to house those who society casts out.
