Join Halifax’s Villains Theatre for an observational astronomy class that moves through music, memory, and magic to teach us about what we can see from our tiny place in the universe.
‘A Beginner’s Guide to the Night Sky’ introduces us to Léo, a young nonbinary person, who invites us into their mother’s observational astronomy class. The effervescent and unabashed Albertine tells us about the stars through music, metaphor, and story, teaching us songs to sing along with her and enthusiastically showing us the universe from her perspective. Inviting the audience to enjoy the night sky, learn about the universe, and sing a capella songs together, this play is an hour-long piece of queer magic that is heartbreaking, uplifting, and full of joy.
Don’t miss this new play from an award-winning team, nominated for four Theatre Nova Scotia Robert Merritt Awards!
