audition call: the blazing world
The Villain’s Theatre is looking to cast two female or non-binary non-union performers* in our 2018 premiere of ‘The Blazing World’, by Colleen MacIsaac based on the work by Margaret Cavendish, directed by Ryanne Chisholm.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, January 13th. Applicants are asked to prepare a short contemporary monologue or alternate performance piece, which does not have to be memorized, and sides will also be provided on the day. Please ensure that any special skills (ie, circus, dance, juggling, etc) are listed on your resume.
This contract will include a script workshop from February 19-25, and rehearsals will run part-time through March, requiring 10am-6pm availability on some weekdays and weekends. The production runs April 11-15 at Neptune’s Scotiabank Stage (Studio Theatre). This is not an Equity contract, but the performers will be paid.

*note, if male performers wish to be considered they may submit their interest as one of the roles is a non-gendered chorus character, but preference will be given to female actors. The Villain’s Theatre encourages submissions from artists from all diverse backgrounds.
