NOTE: One ticket gets you in to the two sessions
Be a part of the process with two staged readings of a new work in development by Colleen MacIsaac, featuring Laura Burke, Melanie Patten, Dan Bray, and Jessy Rose Matthews. The workshop also features test projection design concepts by Michael Lake and initial development of a score created by Jenny Trites!
The Blazing World was a visionary proto-science fiction epic written in 1666 by philosopher, scientist, and playwright Margaret Cavendish. This modern reimagining by Colleen MacIsaac sets this introspective and surprisingly funny tale in our own blazing world, ravaged by the increasingly dire effects of climate change.
Session 1 will feature a staged-reading of this new work in-development followed by a feedback session with the audience. Over the course of one week, the playwright will rework the piece for a reading (session 2) to take place the following week.
