A Potable Performance

This August, come and check out The Villain’s Theatre’s newest tradition: Pubstart Crow! Come grab a drink with the cast and watch an abridged, live-reading version of Ben Jonson’s debauched comedy, The Alchemist.

While many plays of the Jacobean stage detail the zany machinations of low-lives and scoundrels, only one opens with “I fart at thee.” When the bubonic plague leaves London quivering, three con artists emerge as the city’s saviours… for a fee. Watch as they swindle, beguile, and charm a host of larger-than-life characters while trying to keep themselves clear of the law.

Part performance, part drinking game, the Pubstart Crow promises to be a raucous good time! AND YOU CAN BE IN IT!

The entire event will take place in one day. The team will meet in the morning and together we will collaborate to stage Jonson’s comedy in time for the 8 PM curtain.
